President: 

The President of Liverpool Hope Students’ Union is elected annually and works full time to represent students on campus. The President is the lead representative of Liverpool Hope University students. Within the role the president is responsible for communicating student views and interests and managing key relationships with a variety of high profile stakeholders. The President is also responsible for running campaigns throughout the year that they believe will benefit the community of students at Hope.

About the role:

This job was an elected position. This meant that I had to put myself forward and create a manifesto surrounding what I would like to achieve on behalf of the students at the university. I was voted in by the student cohort in March 2024 and I officially started the role at the beginning of July 2024. This role encompasses all areas of the union from the sport and society teams, to welfare and education. 

 

More about me: 

Calling all students! My name is Jemma and I am your Student Union President 24/25. In my final year, I was President of the Netball team and this taught me a lot in terms of leading and working as a team, listening and making decisions that were best for everyone. Using these skills this year I want to make sure your voices are heard and your student experience is enhanced as much as possible, through events, sports, societies and opportunities you won't want to miss! The student union's door is always open and look out on our socials for regular updates. 

 

What are my first priorities? 

Coming from a sports background, I am super keen to support our wide range of amazing sports teams, shouting from the sidelines and posting all successes to really promote getting involved, whether it be playing or watching as this was the best experience I got from my time as a student. I want to support further fundraisers and chances for teams to integrate and support each other. 
I am also going to be working closely with the Careers team at Hope, who are a fantastic group consistently providing students with events, talks, and advice services to improve students employability, which really helps when it comes to looking and applying for jobs, check out their socials: @HopeUniCareers
